Counseling Services

The services provided by Townsend Counseling are meant to support and promote the emotional, physical, and spiritual health of each client. As your counselor, I am dedicated to providing a safe and welcoming space, while assisting you in your personal development.

For many of the people I have the privilege of working with, they’ve reached the end of their ability to “fix” things themselves. They’ve used all of the tools in their tool belt and they need some outside help getting back to center. In our journey together, my goal will be to help you become more empowered, find healing, and strengthen your resiliency towards whatever challenges you are facing. By building a strong, therapeutic relationship, I hope to show you that you have all of the answers for your most fulfilling life within yourself. No matter what you’re struggling with, I believe that every person has the capacity for change, healing, and self-acceptance.

Insurance and Rates

Townsend Counseling is in network with the following insurance companies:

Coverage varies greatly between plans. I do not check benefits for clients, so it is your responsibility to know what your plan covers and what your portion of the cost is. If you plan to use insurance, please call your insurance company and inquire about your insurance benefits utilizing the insurance script below, prior to our first appointment. If insurance declines to cover your visit(s) for any reason, you are responsible for the full fee for the service(s) rendered.

If you do not see your insurance plan listed above, you have the option of seeking out-of-network reimbursement. Some insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits, which means you can submit statements to your insurance for potential reimbursement. If you have questions about your out-of-network benefits, please contact your insurance company directly. Contact information regarding benefits can be found on the back of your insurance card, usually listed as a phone number for “member services” or “customer support.”

Please feel free to ask me about my sliding scale fee and whether you qualify. You can find more information about this below under “Equity Pricing and Reduced Fee Rate.”

Transparency around health care costs is important to me. I will provide Good Faith Estimates under the No Surprises Act explaining the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services, which you can read more about here. You may ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, click here or call me at (208) 991-3027.

Equity Pricing and Reduced Fee Rate2023-10-05T19:58:39-06:00

Accessible mental health care for people in marginalized communities and bodies is very important to me and I reserve reduced fee equity-based pricing slots for this reason. Black/Brown/POC, Indigenous, disabled, LGBTQIA+ folks, and people who are low-income will be given priority for reduced fee spots. Clients who can pay the full fee provide a sustainable model for those who cannot afford it.

Please disclose you are seeking a reduced fee slot when you make your first contact and I will let you know if one is available. My reduced fee offering is $85 per hour. I understand that this still may be inaccessible, and hope to offer even more accessible rates in the future.
